The Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) is a financial assistance program by the Singaporean government aimed at helping Singaporean companies grow and transform. The grant supports companies in projects focused on innovation, productivity improvements, capability development, and internationalization.

The purpose of the EDG grant is to support Singaporean enterprises, especially SMEs, in scaling up and becoming more competitive globally. It aims to encourage companies to undertake strategic projects that will help them upgrade their capabilities, innovate, increase productivity, and expand overseas. The grant co-funds qualifying project costs so that companies can implement growth and transformation projects.

The EDG provides up to 70% co-funding for costs related to the approved projects such as equipment, software, consultancy, training, and certification. Companies can tap on the grant at different stages of growth from capability upgrading to international expansion. The grant helps enterprises offset the risk and cost of implementing projects that will boost their competitiveness and future-readiness.

Project should achieve one or more of the following objectives:

• Introduce new technology or knowledge to improve business processes
• Develop proprietary Intellectual Property and expertise
• Build business networks and partnerships
• Acquire capabilities to improve access to markets
• Strengthen core business functions
• Expand overseas markets and internationalization

The grant provides up to 70% funding support for qualifying project costs such as equipment, software, consultancy, training, and intellectual property rights. Companies can receive up to S$30 million in grant support per firm.

The NTUC Company Training Committee (CTC) Grant aims to support companies in upskilling and upgrading their workforce. It provides funding support for companies to send their employees for training courses and skills upgrading.

NTUC Company Training Grant aims to help companies build capabilities and tap on technology to improve productivity. Supporting employee in an organization with skills upgrading and reskilling to help employees stay relevant to the market. Encouraging employers to take ownership of their employees’ skills development to stay relevant. 

The grant covers up to 90% of course fees and training allowances for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, capped at $15 per hour. Employers can tap on the grant to send their employees for a wide range of training courses in areas like information technology, technical skills, soft skills, and more.

By defraying training costs, the CTC grant enables companies to invest in human capital development. It is administered by NTUC’s e2i (Employment and Employability Institute). Companies can apply for the grant through e2i’s website.

CTC grant has specific eligibility conditions for the employees nominated for training:

• Be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents
• Be full-time employees on the company’s payroll
• Have at least 2 years of working experience prior to course commencement

The CTC grant covers a wide range of training courses including IT, technical and soft skills. The grant amount can cover up to 90% of direct training costs subject to a cap. Companies should review the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the CTC grant.

The Tech-and-GO! Start Digital grant by Singapore’s National Council of Social Service (NCSS) is a funding initiative designed to assist Social Service Agencies (SSAs) in initiating their digital transformation journey.

The grant enables Social Service Agencies to be able to adopt both off-the-shelf and customized IT solutions for essential tools, such as a human resource management system (HRMS), without requiring heavy upfront investment.

Project should achieve the following for each IT solution:

• 20% improvement in manpower productivity
• 70% staff/client satisfaction

The grant offers up to 80% funding support in the first year and 50% in the subsequent two years, with a cap of S$20,000 per solution. The Tech-and-GO! Start Digital grant empowers SSAs to enhance operational efficiency, improve service delivery, and scale their impact through digital innovation.
